Parents are reminded to check their children’s public play areas carefully this summer season, after a report that broken glass had been found placed at the bottom of playground slides in the Glen Allan area.
A resident said that she had taken her grandkids to the parks to play when the glass was discovered on the slides in the park.
Cpl. Darren Anderson of the Strathcona RCMP said he wants parents to be vigilant.
“Our stance on that is that parents take some caution and check the area where their kids are playing,” he said.
“The other important thing is that if somebody does see or witness a crime to make sure it’s reported and if they do see some suspicious activities in the parks — especially after 11 p.m. — to report it to police.”
Glen Allan Elementary School said they also recieved a phone call from an anonymous caller and were aware of the incident.
